General job description:

You will be responsible for the development and productionpreparation of ELAUT products. You bring in new ideas, technologies anddevelopments with the aim of launching innovative games together with R&D.You will interact with the product manager to create and refine mechanicalroadmaps, and report to the innovation manager who will oversee the project,involving all stakeholders to maximize their knowledge and experience in thedesign from the beginning.

You will focus on collaboration within and outside your departmentto achieve optimal results. You will do this by facilitating a projectoperation across all departments and implementing an ELAUT agile operation.

You have a hands-on mentality and lead a team of engineers(mechanical and production engineering).  In this process you will be responsible forthe planning and follow-up of their activities.

You will optimize existing procedures and develop new ones toimprove your department and ELAUT’s operations and ensure optimal use of allsystems.

Together with your team you will ensure the delivery of a completeproduction file for each new unit consisting of production and assemblydrawings of all parts and units, ERP-BOM, product configurator, assemblymanuals and test equipment and procedures.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, fostering knowledgesharing and skill development.
• Define and implement the best practices for mechanical engineering, including:
  • Using SolidWorks to create mechanical prototyping.
  • Making parts and assembly process simpler and more standard (SOP)
• Clean and well-managed master data and processes (PLM / engineeringchange flows / …)
• Translate high-level product features into detailed technical proposals,including material selection and design specifications.
• Oversee and contribute hands-on to engineering changes, ensuring qualityand adherence to deadlines.
• Collaborate with production to follow up and resolve mechanicalproduction issues and avoid them in the future
• Collaborate closely with procurement to:
  • Resolve supplier issues and ensure qualit
  • Identify and manage requirements for cost-saving opportunities (e.g.,subcontracting)
    

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering andexperience in leadership roles.
• Proven track record of leading and motivating a team to achieve projectgoals.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturingprocesses.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D modelling software, sheet metalin particular.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanics (e.g., electro-motors / linear motors).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
